I’m not sure where my love of using found materials originated … Where historically it was once considered avant-garde to use found objects, today it has become much more common and acceptable in many art practices. Found materials hold an energy and history within them that, for me, makes the creative process both thrilling and challenging. No question that one feels a bit like an alchemist when the mundane can be raised to the status of art!
